Nathan added, “I saw how much fun Zack had with the animals and it got me to thinking how much fun it would be.”
Now that he is in 4-H and participating in the farm ! shows himself he sees just how much fun it truly is. “It’s a ; place for kids who want to have fun and do things with the community,” he said. He ; most enjoyed “seeing all the other people and learning i about their animals.”
“It’s fun and it’s something j to do. You meet new people and make new friends. I think it’s really neat,” Dylan added.
Their mother, Diana j Corbin, feels similarly, “Four- | H is an adventure. They meetnew people, they learn new things, it’s just a fun organization.”
The family feels, however that more than fun is involved i in farm shows. They also foster responsibility.
Nathan said, “It gets you ready for the future. It makes you responsible because you have to take care of your ani- ’ mals.”
Ashley has learned other* things as well adding that, “It’s! taught me how to get along’ with people.” Ashley also feels 4-H has increased her interest in animals which she now hopes to turn into a career.
Nathan also hopes to use his farm show skills in the future. He has dreams ofsomeday owning a farm and-; says that, “I’d do all the things. I do now to improve my farm.”1
How does their mother feel? “I think it’s a big accom* ■ plishment for them. There’s a lot of teamwork involved,”. Diana concluded, explaining, that the five must work' together to successfully raise’ their animals.
