Ann also carries many pet care items. If she doesn’t have it she’ll get it and stock it for regular customers.
And she said she can pretty much get anything made for pets. “I stock what customers ask for.”
Ann also has many gift items: frames, jewelry, toys, prints, cards and other unique items. In the winter she gets in special lines for Christmas gifts and more toys.
She carries the Breyer horses for example, and all the accessories that go with them.
She is expecting the first Christmas items to be coming in soon for the holidays and will be running sales too.
“I try to run regular sales to give my customers a break,” she said, “and I don’t carry the very top-of-the-line clothes and riding gear. I cater to families here. Many of the kids are riding as a hobby and their parents can’t afford to put a fortune into it.”
She will also give discounts to 4-H club members and pony club members. They must identify themselves and give the name of their club to get the discount.
The Horse N Hound has been in business for four years this past June. They are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
