Dog day cabaret

Chill if you will in the relative cool of night to the contemporary traditional music of Backwoods Triad on Friday, Aug. 22, 8:30-11 p.m. at the Ki Theater in Washington. Warren Phinney (vocals and guitar), Lucy Turner (violin), and Linda Heimstra (accordion and vocals) will be joined by special guests Linda Orfila and George Rosenbaum. Refreshments will be sold to benefit R.A.W.L. Admission is $5. Advance tickets are available at Mountainside Market.

Services Board to meet

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will not meet in August. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board will be Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. at 15631 Bradford Road, Culpeper. Diabetes support group

Dodson-Atkins reunion set

The Dodson-Atkins family reunion will be Sunday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at the VFW Shelter, 1847 North Royal Avenue in Front Royal. Family and friends are welcome. Those attending should bring a picnic lunch. Lunch will be served at 12 noon.

Auction planned at Washington

Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue will sponsor an auction on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. Items are needed for this fundraiser. Donated items can be brought to the fire department or call 675-3615 for pick-up by members.
