The diversity of Americans and the differing hopes they * hold for their children cannot • be addressed adequately by a “common school system,” even if it is well funded and staffed with talented, caring teachers. Schools work best when educators and families cooperate, not compete. We cannot have a society that is both free and peaceful when government legislators use the school to shape attitudes or control the content of anyone’s mind. As conflicts escalate, communities divide, what a negative setting for children, and the result of that setting is evident.
If you cannot home-school or use private schools, you must take control of the public schools, get involved and study your rights as parents, and tax payers. The Rutherford Institute is there to help you, free of charge. Much information is available from them on this subject. We must protect parents’ rights, and enable schools, teachers, and students to flourish in an environment of educational freedom.
With all the trials that are about to come upon this nation, God will provide a way out for those of a pure heart toward Him. The Proclamation for The Separation of School and State: Whereas we all want children to grow into responsible, competent, caring adults, and whereas more and more children are failing to reach this goal, and whereas parents have both the responsibility and right to provide an education for their children, it is time to reexamine the fundamentals of schooling and propose real improvement. Now is time for the teachers and parents to take action.
