schools from the bondage of government financing and operation. They hope Americans will be on the threshold of a new gift to themselves and the world — they separation of school and state. It is the answer to saving the schools, since they cannot continue as they are. We are not blaming the people in the system for the disgraceful state of the schools, but rather the system itself.

As we have said many times before, the NEA (teachers union) keeps passing resolutions that are directly related to politics not education, which is evident in most schools. As Samauel Bloomenfeld said “the schools are crumbling before our very eyes.” Sheldon Richman, Senior editor of the Cato Institute points out “the absurdity of expecting schools to extol capitalism to kids who are sitting in a socialist schoolroom.”

A large portion of information requested from parents, was about the false labeling, such ADHD, etc., and the result of that labeling. Did you know that Ritalin is a “class two drug, same as herione and cocaine?” Did you know that if your child is on Ritalin in the older grades, he cannot serve in the Armed Forces? Anyone who would like to see this documentation, can do so. We have a letter from the Pentagon, and FDA stating these facts and much more. In a lot of cases this drug is dispensed by a non-professional, as most teacher know. It has been said (in defense of the public schools) that it is not the schools, but the parents who give these drugs. These parents have put their children in the trust of the educators, heeded their “professional advice,” and have no idea what they are getting into. They should be told the facts pro and con, to make an informed decision.

Education and values cannot be separated. Teachers teach more than academics. By their actions and explanations, teachers impart the value they hold.
