When she returned to the United States, she enrolled in the Hahnaman Medical College P.A. program where she studied and learned to bridge the gap between modern medicine and allopathy and traditional healing.
While in the program Kathleen studied pharmacology and found she loved it. She learned how the body’s systems work and how medicine and food are incorporated to help it heal when necessary and to maintain it.
She also uncovered her belief that modem medicine is too symptomatic (treating the symptom) and not as concerned with nourishing the body itself. She then decided to search for a traditional healing teacher.
She discovered there is no licensing or certification program available in the U.S. and therefore undertook an apprenticeship to various master herbalists which lasted seven years. Among them was the well known David Hoffman of Great Britain.
