Kathleen had been working out of her home in Flint Hill for about six years when she found out the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center was forming in Sperryville and she welcomed the opportunity to join in the effort.
About two years ago she established “Dream time,” an educational opportunity for traditional healing and a way for local people interested in herbalism to study it without having to travel all over the way she had to.
At present Kathleen is a very bust lady, what with the RHAC and “Dream time” not to mention a baby boy, Ian, who keeps both Kathleen and her husband, John Bloom, hopping but happy.
She also supervises a free clinic at RHAC every Wednesday. The clinic is staffed by her former “Dream time” students, now graduates.
And, she teaches at the University of Virginia Complimentary Medical Program on the proper use of herbal medicine.
