A combination of high temperatures and gentle breezes has aggravated the already serious drought which has hit Rappahannock and surrounding counties during the past two months. The supervisors got a lesson on the intricacies of bureaucratic budgets at their meeting Aug. 3, as social services director Sylvia Kreitler explained the consequences of their decision to cut her 1987-88 budget by approximately $3,000. The silver-haired legislature passed a dozen bills during its three-day session, Aug. 3 to 5, in Richmond, all with the purpose of making life better for senior citizens living throughout the Commonwealth. The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has issued a warning to outdoors men to be extremely careful of the danger of fires in the woods.
