I have talked with Margaret Ann Chadwell, regarding her Letter to the Editor of Aug. 6, and agree with her recommendation for ah ordinance against barking dogs.
I go one step further and consider barking dogs more than a nuisance. It is noise pollution and is compounded because persons who have to Listen to it have absolutely no control over the situation.
I have been complaining to our county officials for over a year about loud, excessive dog barking. My district supervisor says I have no recourse. We are zoned R25. Well, you can hear these dogs more than 25 acres away.
• Any person who has dogs must be held accountable for not containing the noise their barking dogs make, day or night.
It is obvious this problem will continue until a law is made, one that can be enforced against any person(s) when there is a complaint against their barking dog.
; All residents of Rappahannock County should have peace and quiet.
