The Compulsory School Attendance Law was passed unanimously by the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors at the regular meeting held Friday at which all members were present. The semi-annual sales staged for the benefit of the Washington Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue Squad will be held during the month of September. A report on preliminary investigation of watershed projects in Rappahannock County will be presented the public at a meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. in the Sperryville Elementary School. Three members of Boy Scouts of America Troop #64, Washington, Va. have been selected for the Order of the Arrow, one of the highest honors in scouting.

The condition of Rappahannock County’s secondary roads came in for criticism several times — within the context of a number of situations — at last Thursday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors. Both new and second hand books will be sold in the Rappahannock County Elementary School auditorium only on Friday, Aug. 18
