Annual butterfly
count scheduled
The third annual Luray AreaShenandoah National Park butterfly count will take place Sunday, July 11. The event is sponsored by the North American Butterfly Association, Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah Natural History Association. Volunteers will spend the day counting and identifying butterflies in a 15 mile diameter circle centered on Hershberger Hill, between Luray and Stanley. After counting butterflies in their designated sections of the count circle or in their gardens, participants will attend a compilation picnic at Shenandoah National Park
