In order to divide responsibilities for its several tasks, the Rappahannock Board has a number subcommittees which study or work on particular areas and make recommendations to the entire board for discussion and/or approval. The use of subcommittees is also intended to make regular board meetings more streamlined and informative for the public. Current subcommittees include:
• Policy
• Finance
• Physical Plant
• Strategic Planning
• Curriculum and Educa
tional Issures
• Personnel
• Press and Government
Relations
Subcommittee work occupies a considerable amount of board time and effort, but has generally strengthened board operation during the two years the committees have been in existence.
