The Amissville United Methodist Church will hold their Vacation Bible School July 12-16 from 9 a.m. until 12. Vacation Bible School is open to all children kindergarten through seventh grade. The church is located on U.S. 211. Please call 937-5480 for a pre-registration form.
The Jeffersonton Baptist Church will also be holding their Vacation Bible School the week of July 12. Youth and adult classes will be offered from 6:45 p.m. until 9 p.m. Come join the fun and fellowship.
Here are the official results of the contestants for Queen, Junior Miss, and Little Miss for the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue:
Emily Taylor sold 5,325 tickets (213 books) and was crowned Queen for the 14-20 age group, Donna Corbin sold 1,350 tickets (54 books) for first runner-up and Kristen Kennedy sold 275 tickets (11 books) for second runner-up.
Kady Gum sold 939 tickets (37 books plus 14 tickets) and was crowned Junior Miss for the 8-13 age group, April Reid sold 744 tickets (29 books plus 19 tickets) for first runner-up,
