Norma Jean Williams who won the title of “Little Miss Chester Gap” last week was crowned and presented a gift late Friday night at the annual carnival sponsored by the firemen at Chester Gap. Others in the contest were Rhonda Williams, Millie North and Donna Williams. Rappahannock County farmers received $31,327 in cost-shares under the Agricultural Conservation Program in 1968 for carrying out necessary soil and water conservation practices, according to the annual report just released by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office. Susan Dodson of Flint Hill attended a 4-H short course at V.P.I., Blacksburg June 16-20. Susan has been active in 4-H for the past six years and has been outstanding in public speaking, clothing projects, Share-the-Fun, Light Horse and Pony Club. She has attended 4-H Congress at Blacksburg and served as a junior leader at 4-H camp. Mrs. William J. Keim of Amissville will be hostess when the Rappahannock County Garden Club meets on July 16. Mrs. Charles H. Estes will present the program, “A B C’s” of Flower Arranging.” The exhibit for July is a red, white and blue arrangement.
