Deputy J.C. Welch arrested 38 year-old William P. Medina and charged him with drunk in public.
Traffic arrest
Welch arrested Brian Dodson, 22, of Sperryville after an incident on July 1. Someone called the Sheriff’s Office just after 10 p.m. to complain about a green Toyota pickup speeding, weaving and tailgating other vehicles.
Welch, upon turning north onto U.S. 522 to respond, was nearly sideswiped by Dodson in the pickup. A high-speed chase ensued and Dodson lost control of his truck, ending up in the parking lot of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. WelcH* arrested Dodson there, charging him with driving while intoxicated and speeding to elude.
