graduates
Jonathan Timothy Maeyer, a resident of Sperryville, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg during commencement services held Sunday, May 16.
Some 1712 degrees were conferred at ceremonies held in William and Mary Hall. U.S. Senator John M. Warner, chair of the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee and senior senator from Virginia delivered the commencement address.
Warner told graduates they are “desperately needed today in so many ways,” and “the most likely solutions that we’re going to come up with are going to come from you.”
The College of William and Mary, located on the edge of Colonial Williamsburg’s historic area, was founded by Royal Charter in 1693 and is the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.
