Washington, D.C. and formerly of Rappahannock County died on Sunday, Feb. 13.
She was bom on Aug. 23, 1943 in Sperryville to Louise Porter and the late Leroy Porter.
She was raised in the Sperryville area and attended Rappahannock County Public Schools.
In 1966, she moved to Washington, D.C. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville.
In addition to her mother, survivors include one son, William Porter of Suitland, Md.; three sisters, Jackie Porter of Sperryville, Bessie Grigsby of Washington and Marilyn Price of Manassas; six brothers, Leroy Porter Jr., Donald Porter, John Oscar Porter, Dudley Freeman, Larry Freeman and Robert Freeman; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 11 at Horton Funeral Home in Washington, D.C.
