The school board in session last night unanimously voted to consolidate the high schools at Washington, hereafter to be referred to as Rappahannock County High School, for the session of 1950-51. Following a long period of discussion, a series of resolutions created the consolidation of the two high schools at Washington, Rappahannock County High School, with a curriculum including a commercial department with typing and shorthand. The fifth, sixth and seventh grades of Washington and Sperryville will be consolidated and hereafter be referred to as Sperryville Elementary School. Sheriff James M. Lillard is continuing the investigation of the reported meat house robbery at Amissville last Tuesday night. The sheriff was notified March 1 that five hams and two shoulders were missing. Rev. Felton S. Carter, student at Louisville, Ky. and future pastor of the Woodville and Mt. Lebanon Baptist Churches will hold services at Woodville and Mt. Lebanon on Sunday. Rappahannock Rockets will play the Warrenton basketball teams, both boys and girls, on Monday at Sperryville High School auditorium. Manager Gibson Wharton will be on hand to guide the Rockets.

Karen Bear of Washington was one of the lovely models who showed spring fashions during the Spring Fling under the direction of the Rappahannock Woman’s Club on Saturday. Proceeds will go to the Rappahannock Recreation Center. Captain Howard Holschuh, USN Retired and Mrs. Holschuh have returned to their home in Rock Mills after an eight-week cruise aboard a freighter to the Far East.
