Amissville residents aren ’t as different
as some wish that we believe.
The survey conducted by the Amissville Area
Community Association points out an interesting
fact: the residents of Amissville want a Rappahannock just like the rest of us—with farmland preserved, with strictly managed growth, and without a McDonalds or a Food Lion or even a golf course or an industrial park.
Those who have promoted such un- or even antiRappahannock "conveniences" have not done so for the greater good, but for personal gain.
There's certainly no law against that, but it is time that to shed the pretense—if you want to build that industrial park or a twenty square mile "village" or a "Greg Norman" golf course, it's not for your neighbors, it's for you.
