The 50th wedding anniversary of John and Lillian Worth of Fairfax, formerly of New York is planned for Saturday, Aug. 26 at the home of their daughter, Monica Worth, who lives on the Fodderstack Road.
Peter and Maureen Sienkiewicz of Florence, Mass, arrived on Monday for the event. Judy Pelc of South Deerfield, Mass., who is very ill will not be able to attend. The family regrets her not being able to join them.

The United Methodist Women held their annual picnic on Monday evening at the home of Mary Frances Bywaters.
The members and their guests present were Homer and Artis East and daughter, Sherry, Candy Lamma and Anne Ashley, Jack and Mary Curtis, Dougie and Athena Bywaters and children, Angie, Matthew and Joshua, Larry and Shelby Welch, Janet Eastham, Barbara Gentry, Alice Pullen, Frances Hudson, Merlin Shorb, M.H. Brady and Louise McCulloch.
The Flint Hill community hosted a thank-you party at the fire hall on Saturday to honor Ed Marcey and Admiral Josef Gardiner for their many years of service in the community. There were 50 present for the event.
Barbara Gentry and Polly Payne motored to Mineral on Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dunn and twin daughters, Ann and Erin, who were celebrating their fifth birthday.
Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Dodson of Staunton and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dodson and children of Herndon.
Bill Welch has been diagnosed with diabetes and has been quite ill. We would like to keep him in our prayers.
