• Four classrooms will have the potential to be subdivided, thus providing space for small classes, tutoring, conferences or seminars. .

• Several teachers will at last be able to move from closets and athletic storage areas into spaces designed as classrooms.

Thanks in large part to a generous private grant administered by Headwaters, the schools are now entering into a third year of learning about and applying the Effective Schools Research. This widely respected body of knowledge cites seven key characteristics of schools able to foster a high rate of student success, regardless of socio-economic factors.

• Frequent monitoring.

• Home community relations.

The School Board is responsible to see that all of these conditions prevail in the schools. To that end, the boand cordially invites citizen participation in its work as the governing and policy making body for the schools. Meetings are held twice monthly on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
