The Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance (RCCA) celebrated its first anniversary with an annual meeting at the Washington Fire Hall last Friday. The organization gave evidence of the significant work it has done since its inception by providing presentations in three of those' areas: in the assessment of Rappahannock County's growth potential through a build-out analysis; in the development, in conjunction with the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, of a County guide for living; and in the assessment and investigation of issues pertaining to the siting and installation of cell towers in Rappahannock.
Founding President Bayard Catron introduced the topics to the well-attended gathering, and announced the Board of Directors for the organization's second year. He noted that he will be departing as President, and that Robert Dennis will assume that role for calendar year 2001.
Returning as officers are Gary Light as Vice President, Douglas - Ginaburg as- Secretary, and Clifford Miller as Treasurer. New Board members Alan Dranitzke, Katie Massie, and Dick McNear will join founding Board members Don Audette, Chris Bird, Hal Hunter, Chris Parrish and Mitzie Young to fill out the RCCA's governing board.
