Benefit dinner planned
A country ham and turkey dinner will be held at the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company on Saturday, Nov. 18. Adult prices are $10 or $12 for all-you-can-eat and children under 12 can eat for $6. For donations and information call 937-4954.

Saturday, Nov. 11, Moonlight Hike of Old Rag Mountain, meet at Mountainside Market, west of Sperryville by 5 p.m. or upper parking lot of Old Rag on Nethers side by 5:45 p.m. Return time ??? Winter coat drive coming
The Amissville Baptist Church is having a winter coat drive on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone who needs coats, hats or gloves may come to the church and receive them for free. For more information call 937-5622.
Trout Unlimited meeting set
The public is invited to hear John O’Neill from the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter, Trout Unlimited, discuss “Fishing the Salmon River in Upstate New York.” This program will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thornton River Fly Shop, located at the intersection of US 211 and Route 522 in Sperryville.
The program is sponsored by the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited that meets monthly at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. The Chapter charter includes a four-county area, all of Page, Shenandoah and Warren counties and the northwestern part of Rappahannock County. Trout Unlimited is incorporated as a national, non-profit educational, charitable organization dedicated to protecting coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
