The charge that Lieberman “has forgone his firm religious based convictions to cater to his...running mate,” is a slur on a gentleman with an unbroken record of impeccable principles and integrity. More likely, he has seen the wisdom of unburdening himself of parochial special interests in favor of the broader interests he seeks to represent as Vice President.
Allen and Bush’s double-talk about education, health care, and the environment is really annoying. Putting public education first, for what, the ax? Protecting the environment from what, preservation? And health care...enough already said.
Bush fought tooth and nail against Tfexans’ right to sue HMOs and now tries to take credit for the fact that Texas has such a law. Sure, in spite of him. George W. Bush (and George Allen) consciously and consistently misleads voters about his record and his real agenda. That may not be lying, but it is sneaky and underhanded. Worse, it’s Nixonesque.
