Helen Gore Benton, 85, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. died Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Chesapeake General Hospital in Chesapeake.
She was bom Jan. 2, 1915, in Fauquier County, a daughter of the late Hugh Gilbert Gore and Maude Dodson Gore.
Mrs. Benton was active at Trinity Episcopal Church and loved arts and crafts. She was a retired homemaker. Her husband was the late Edwin Field Benton.
Survivors include a son, Hugh R. Benton of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; two sisters, Virginia Gore Lindstrom and Dorothy Gore Estes, both of Front Royal and several nieces and nephews. ^ In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by a sister, Louise Gore Campbell.
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, Oct. 29 at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Woodville with the Rev. Jennings Hobson officiating.
