Destiny Renee Menefee of Sperryville and Jeffrey Ray Compton of Castleton were united in marriage on April 15 at Hope Hill Baptist Church, Castleton.
The bride is the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Carl R. Menefee of Sperryville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Waggoner of Reva and Richard L. Menefee of Sperryville. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Jean Jenkins Menefee.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Thomas Compton of Castleton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whorton of Castleton and the great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jenkins of Washington. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Compton of Castleton.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father Pastor Carl Menefee.
The double ring ceremony was performed at Hope Hill Baptist Church, where both bride and groom attended as young children.
Pastor Steve Owens of Outreach Baptist Church in Kentucky, opened the ceremony with prayer followed by an explanation of the true meaning of marriage between a man and a woman.
Dr. Floyd Brewer, an Evangelist from Georgia and close friend of the bride and groom, followed with the lighting of the Unity Candle signifying two lives becoming one.
