preliminary results of an effort that he and Hal Hunter engaged in, with the Assistance of John McCarthy and Beverly Atkins, to study the effects of a "build-out" of available lots in Rappahannock. According to Mr. Light, a build-out analysis evaluates population trends in light of existing zoning limits, considers the impact of residential growth on county taxes and expenditures, and provides information to County leaders responsible for reviewing the Comprehensive plan.

This preliminary study used the County real estate database and zoning maps to determine how many additional homes could be built in Rappahannock under existing zoning laws. The RCCA esti* mated that the County has a current population of approximately 7,900 in 3,000 homes.
