Congratulations to Mrs. Nina Peyton of Clover Acres Lane who won blue ribbon, first place with her apple pie she entered in the Sperryville Festival on Oct. 14. This is the second year in a row that Mrs. Peyton was so honored. She donated her pie there and it was sold by the slice. What a treat the buyers had, and I'm sure they advised her to keep baking.
Sunday, being the fifth Sunday of the month, following worship services at Novum Baptist Church, members and friends enjoyed a delightful dinner.

Quite a number from our community attended the "singing and pickin’’ party at the Salem Fire Hall, Friday evening and we re sure the food prepared by the department was certainly enjoyed, while also supporting the fire and rescue department.

For any of you who want less driving and take a bus, we have news that the Greyhound Company has resumed services in Culpeper, leaving for Dulles Airport three times a day and for Roanoke and Atlanta twice a day. The pick-ups take place on Commerce Street across from the depot.
