Colonial dancers circling a ballroom in long gowns and period costumes, a Yule Log burning and crackling in front of Christmas carolers, hot cider, bell ringers, an art gallery Christmas show, a Wassail bowl at a historic bed & breakfast and a Candlelight Colonial Christmas Dinner, the festivities go on and on, and visitors can enjoy all of these throughout the weekend of Dec. 1-3 in the historic village of Washington.
Christmas festivities begin Friday evening, Dec. 1 at The Theatre in Washington, on Gay Street where a Christmas Cartoon Carnival begins at 8 p.m., sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC). This event, which offers all of your favorite Christmas cartoons, is $5 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for children.
The next morning, Saturday, Dec. 2 at 9 a.m., you will be in the Christmas spirit as you attend the Hearthstone School's Christmas Bazaar in the middle of the village at the Trinity Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall. There you will find wonderful gift ideas for everyone in the family.
