"Father", as he was known to the many Rappahannock County residents he befriended during his two years as chaplain of Bethany House Retreat in Huntly and six years as the pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Mission in Washington, won the respect and friendship of his parishioners and the community through his outgoing personality and strong principles. In a lead photograph with her fellow Flint Hill Extension Homemakers, Mrs. Alice Pullen was named the Extension Homemaker of the Year. The Flint Hill Club was named the top club for the year. Members attending the event along with Mrs. Pullen were Margaret Dodson, Janet Eastham, Elsie Dodson and Flo Duvall.
