dren depending on their size. The desks were nailed to a piece of wood so they could be moved, and you could sweep under them. There was no dress code for the children. They could wear whatever they had or wanted.

The teachers would board with local families. Some of the teachers were Sadie Cannon from Rock Mills, Cora Armentrout Willis, Lula Miller, and Valma Niner from Richmond. There were many more, but these are the later ones that some of the students still talk about.

It is amazing in a span of 60 years that our lives could change so much. Many of the students that attended the school were related, and represent our heritage. They are a piece of who we are today. As we approach the Thanksgiving
