From the outside in
• Bring a bit of the gardep indoors with a living or dried topiary. For a living topiary, start with a decorative pot and a plant. Although topiaries can be made with almost any plant, beginners should start with climbing plants such as ivy, jasmine, pothos or philodendron. For a fruit-bearing topiary, choose a strawberry plant.
Transplant the plant into the decorative pot and set aside. Using a plain wire coat hanger, straighten the hook end. With the remaining loop, form into the desired shape. Circles, hearts and diamonds are good shapes to begin with. Firmly insert the straight end into the pot alongside the plant stem.
Using florist wire, gently attach the vines of the plant onto the wire shape taken care to cover the wire entirely. Once the plant is securely attached to
