College Night at RCHS Nov. 28
College Night will be held at Rappahannock County High School auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. Learn what it takes to be admitted to Virginia's most popular four-year universities. Representatives from Virginia Tech, James Madison University and George Mason University will be on hand to explain the criteria used when selecting college freshmen.
Indoor soccer to begin
Indoor soccer is coming to Rappahannock County! Mark your calendars: the first play date will be Saturday, Dec. 2 at the RCHS gym. The program will run on Saturday afternoons in December, January and February. Watch this space for more details.
"Introduction to 4-H" planned
There will be an "Introduction to 4-H" for families who are homeschooled on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Extension Office. Youth will start the "Introduction to 4-H" learning about foods and nutrition and prepare their own lunch. The 4-H program will furnish the food supplies. After lunch, the program will continue by sharing with participants what 4-H has to offer. If you are a youth between the ages of 5-19 years, please call the Extension Office to sign up, 675-3619.
Garden Club to host greens sale
The Rappahannock Garden Club members will once again be gathering greens and assembling Christmas swags, wreaths, and garlands for distribution on Dec. 6. Orders for those greens may be placed with Sally Havstad at 987-9342 before Dec. 1. The club makes fresh wreaths of boxwood and of mixed greens, white pine garlands, and door swags.
Financial aid workshop set
A college financial aid workshop will be held on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. This workshop will cover sources of aid, new topics for 2001-2002 and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). FAFSA forms will be available from the guidance office at the end of November.
