upward, standing looking me in the eye is a joy. There is no dollar value I can attach to the privilege of being allowed into that secret life, because it is priceless.
Hearing it’s mate rambling on and on from a nearby bush, there is worth in listening to him sing, and you cannot buy that either.
That is what makes birding the most rewarding of all outdoor activities to me.
It is a secret world birds live in. and knowledge of that world can only be partly gained from books but taking a moment to stop, look and listen teaches also.
