Teen Hawaiian Luau set
On Monday evening, July 30 from 5 p.m. until dark, Lynn Sullivan and the Rappahannock Bazaar will host the first of two summer events for Rappahannock teens, ages 13-18, at Swan Lake, just off 211 and Gid Brown Hollow Road on Redivia Lane. Food, swimming, and games will be provided under adult supervision. Come in costume if you wish. There is a $3 charge. Teens need to sign up and receive directions by leaving a message at 987-8635, extension 3 as soon as possible. For more information leave a message for Carol Lucking.
Democrats meet to plan GOTV
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will gather Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library for an important Get Out the Vote meeting. Additionally, there will be updates on the Mark Warner, Tim Kaine and Donald McEachin campaigns.
Yard signs and bumper stickers will be available from all candidates. Please do try to attend. All meetings are open to the public. A time for refreshments and socializing follows every meeting. For more information call 675-3515 or gorfein@infi.net.
Dwyer reunion planned
The 11th annual Dwyer family reunion will be held on Saturday, July 28 beginning at 10 a m. at the Washington fire hall. Please bring drink/ dish to share.
This weekend at Blue Moon
Lean & Mean will be performing at Blue Moon Cafe just west of Sperryville on Friday, July 27. Smiggy’s New Rock Band will perform on Saturday, July 28. Blue Moon Cafe is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Sculpture ivorkshop set
A sculpture workshop, figure in plasticine, taught by Charles E. Flickinger will be held Aug. 2-5 at The Oldway Art Center at 11794 Lee Highway in Sperryville. The four-day event will be held from 11 a m. to 6:30 p.m. which includes one and half hour lunch. Cost is $350 which includes model fee and materials.
