family reunion planned
The Jenkins, Woodward and Sisk family reunion hosted by the Raymond and Frances Jenkins family will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. All friends and family members are welcome. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share. For information call Louise Woodward at 675-2041.
Summer trail rides
The Rappahannock Hunt is currently sponsoring its annual summer trail rides. On Saturday, July 28 the ride will be held at Muckamoor at Mitchells at 10 a.m. and will be a joint trail ride with Bull Run Hunt hosted by Martha and Cameron Thompson. Bring a dish for the picnic.

Clinic will be open Aug. 1
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open on Aug. 1. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Health Department Building. For additional information call 347-0394.
Activities at Dreamtime
Making Herbal Beer will be held July 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Dreamtime Center for Herbal Studies near Washington. The cost is $60 and includes all materials. Spend a delightful day with Tara Welty learning all the howtos of herbal beer brewing.
Kitchen Cosmetics will be featured at Dreamtime on Aug. 18 from 9:30 to 4:30. Learn how to make, package, label and market your own natural health and beauty cosmetics. Lots of recipes will be given and through demonstration, you will create your own shampoos, hair rinses, facial toners, foot powders and more. The cost is $60 which includes all materials. Taste of Rappahan nock set
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 15 and make reservations now to attend Headwaters’ third annual fundraiser, “Taste of Rappahannock’’. Proceeds from this event will support the many projects sponsored by Headwaters that directly benefit the County’s public school students.
The “Taste of Rappahannock” will again take place at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Headwaters office at 675-1819. Ticket prices for the fundraiser will once again be $100 per guest, of which $75 is tax deductible. The Headwaters office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Tennis championships set
The Fauquier County Tennis Championships sponsored by Allen Real Estate Company LTD and Chestnut Forks Athletic Club have set championship dates. The Junior Doubles and Singles, boys and girls 10, 12 and 16 and under will be held July 25-29. The Men’s and Ladies' Singles A, B and C will be held July 27-Aug. 19 with an entry deadline of July 25. Men’s Doubles A, B and C will be held Aug. 2-5, and an entry deadline of July 30. Mixed Doubles A, B and C will be held Aug. 15-19, entry deadline Aug. 13.
Singles and Mixed Doubles Finals with a complimentary picnic beginning at noon will be held on Aug. 19. The tournament is open to all residents and employees of Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties. For more information call 347-0823.
