Her inspiration comes from the work of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung and - Peter Schumann’s Bread I and Puppet in Glover, Vt. ; She reflected, “I had the feeling of something I 1 thought was a necessity in •; my life that I realized could ' be actualized with the use of - masks and music. I wanted . to participate in celebra- ; tions that inspired and strengthened the communi- , ty, and that were connected to some of the basic cycles of . nature and of the human psychology: the change of seasons, growth, death, birth, rebirth, and renewal.”
Her masks have been featured in ceremonies for Earth Days, Easters, May Days, Winter/Summer Solstices, weddings, a debutante ball and the Fringe Festival in Philadelphia, Pa.
Peg Schadler lives in Rappahannock County with her husband, Steve, and . their two children, Laura and Claire.

An artist’s reception, which includes a performance by Schadler and her friend, Beth Wellmeyer, will celebrate the opening of this installation, and will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.
