i A pulpit lamp given Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville in memory of Mrs. Anna Brown will be dedicated at the worship service on Sunday, Jan. 23. Mrs. Judy Harrison will provide the special music and Mrs. William H. Lyne will present, “Memories of Missy.”
A Rappahannock Chorus is being organized and anyone who wishes to participate in it is invited to attend the organizational meeting on Jan. 26 at Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall. Contact individuals are Ellen Manson and Col. NA Parson.
Panorama Realty in Sperryville was advertising a three bedroom home with metal roof on almost one acre in the middle of Sperryville for only $18,000. Also listed was over 129 acres on Red Oak Mountain with a certified survey for $77,000.
First aid courses began Jan. 12 at the Sperryville fire hall. Classes will meet every Monday and Wednesday. Paul Poling will be the instructor.

A front page photo featured a cedar-sided modular home that was donated to the Child Care and Learning Center. Proceeds from the auction sale will benefit the center. It will have to be moved from its location in Harris Hollow.
A program commemorating the birthday of civil rights pioneer Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place at The Theatre at Washington on Jan. 18. Local resident E. Franklin Warner will discuss the life and teachings of Dr. King and will conclude with the recitation of the memorable “I Have a Dream” speech.
