Diabetes support group offered
A Rappahannock diabetes support group will be offered Jan. 30, Feb 27 and March 27 by Cathy Tibbetts, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator at Trinity Church's Parish Hall in Washington from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ms. Tibbetts is a registered nurse with a specialty in diabetes. She works as a diabetes nurse educator and volunteers with the Rappahannock Free Clinic.
Each month there will be a new topic that the group will take up. The initial meeting on Jan. 30 will focus on “Diet, Strategies for Making Healthy Food Choices”, refreshments will be provided from recipes taken from ADA cookbooks. Open house scheduled
To kick off national Catholic Schools Week, Epiphany Catholic School in Culpeper is having its annual open house on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Prospective parents and students are invited to the school located at Precious Blood Church in Culpeper to learn more about the school and the registration process. Super Sitters workshop set
There will be a 4-H Super Sitters Workshop on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a m. to 3 p.m. at the Extension Office. This workshop is a training course on babysitting. There will be a first aid section covered by Lisa Pendleton, 4-H volunteer leader.
The rest of the workshop will cover different areas of babysitting and nutrition under the adult leadership of Culpeper County FCS Extension Agent Linda Murphy. This workshop is designed for youth 13 years or older. Lunch will be provided. Call the Extension Office at 675-3619 to register.
