Mayor Willis continues to work with the Rural Development Administration (RDA) to obtain financing for the project, and he reported that the RDA has some concern about financing those portions of the collection system that would he located on private property.
Each wastewater system customer would have a 1,000 gallon tank with a two inch grinder pump to collect and pump sewage into the system, and the responsibility for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of these components is apparently one of the issues that needs to be resolved.
Final design and engineering of the system must he complete before any arrangements are finalized with the RDA, the Mayor said, but preliminary engineering is nearly complete, and that should suffice for approval from the Virginia Departnient of Health.
