Wolfe 1999. and Matt Wolfe 2000. They spoke on issues ranging from the amount of writing practice and guidance they received in high school to the challenges of picking a major and registering for required college classes. Most noted the difficult transition from the more intimate atmosphere of RCHS and a close relationship with their high school teachers, to the much larger and impersonal college setting.
Overall, the advice given by the panel seemed to have one theme: students need motivation to start working hard while still in high school. The panelists repeatedly mentioned that self-motivation, and guidance offered by their families and the community, greatly helped them in deciding to apply to and attend college.
They credited the teachers who challenged and expected the most from them for preparing them for college.
