January Ttiam Deep into the coldest month and next to the oldest month, with snow laced upon the limbs, the brilliance of the noonday sun plays with Mother Nature’s whims. The Arctic air that freezes breath and turns the earth to stone takes short respite with much delight Old Man winter's tossed his throne. The tell tale signs are not benign, the air has a certain feeling, the sun bums warm near rocks and bam, it's sudden warmth appealing. Though I love snow, and wonderland, and all that this implies. The gift of January's thaw presents a smile I cannot hide. When the creeks run high, we can't deny the hint of spring intriguing For the ongoing cold, or so I'm told, can find sane quite fatiguing. So when the shivers sneak under the covers and we yearn for summer's balm, at least the thaw in the coldest month is a comfort without a qualm. \ ' Cynthia Stamps W oodville
