which the Town has a purchase option, but the option expires mid-March and it is doubtful that required engineering and public hearings can be concluded before that date. Vice-Mayor Steve Critzer has discussed that problem with estate trustees though, and he reported that an extension of the option is a possibility.
Charlie Tompkins, chair of the former Wastewater Committee, expressed his “angst” regarding the source of funds for the proposed system, and said that the committee never anticipated that the Town's wastewater fund would be used for land acquisition. Mayor Willis disputed that, and said that he always saw it as “an entire system-land and pipes, etc. . . .”
He added that more work had to be done on the financing aspects and with the RDA, including determining how much money would be available through loans and grants,
