Opening reception

rescheduled for

Middle Street

~' The Middle Street Gallery announces the opening of a group exhibition featuring the work of gallery members and their invited artist friends. This is a multi-media show featuring many of the best artists in the Northern Virginia area.

The show will be on view now through Jan. 27. Due to inclement weather the opening reception has been rescheduled for Sunday, Jan. 20 from 2 to 6 p.m.

The gallery is located on Middle Street in Washington and is open during January each Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Call the gallery at 675-3440 for more information.

R. Lee’s birthday

The McCormick Civil War Institute of Shenandoah University and Hardtack Tours Inc. cordially invites Rappahannock residents to share in the celebration of the birthday of Robert Edward Lee on Friday, Jan. 18. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Joseph L. Harsh.

Entertainment will be provided by The Tuscarora Civil War Brass Band at Dean’s Steakhouse, 708 South Royal Avenue in Front Royal. Menu will be choice of chicken or beef for $25 per person. Those attending should RSVP, 635-7078 by Jan. 17.
