had more of an idea what they should expect and a more vigorous guidance department. They mentioned that more students would strive to attend college if their parents and teachers stressed that they have the ability and should continue their education.
Several panelists suggested that students would be better prepared for the job market if citizens working in Rappahannock could come into the school to discuss their careers. They also thought it would be good for students to take field trips to visit college campuses.
Judging from the audience’s praise after the forum’s conclusion, the night was a success. Not only was the discussion informative, many attendees had high praise for the panel members, one person even mentioning that “RCHS must be doing something right, if graduates are this articulate and insightful.”
The next Headwaters forum will take place Thursday. Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. at the county library. The topic of discussion will be International Baccalaureate.
