Mayor Willis reported that he sent letters to interested parties regarding a meeting to discuss means of continuing the July 4th celebration. That meeting will be held at the Washington Town Hall on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The Town Council also approved a motion by Charlie Tompkins that would prohibit the July 4th fireworks if no one certified in the use of pyrotechnics is available. Mayor Willis noted though that certification is available through a number of firms in the Richmond area, and Steve Critzer and Jerry Goebel volunteered to attend a certification course, and Mr. Critzer suggested that Richie Burke
