night the four classes presented skits for their parents. The children wrote the play in English, painted the scenery, created their costumes and on the night of the performances, the plays were translated for their parents. This year Mrs. Snead’s 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class based their skit on the life of David.
It seemed, however, that her favorite skit came from the “big lugging boys” in the 8th and 9th grade, playing the parts of the sheep in the story of the shepherd who leaves his 99 sheep to find the one missing. They managed to use lots of American slang and entertained themselves and everyone else in the room.
“Hearts as big as wash tubs,” Mrs. Snead said of “her” family and all of the adults and children she came in contact with. She will surely travel to Slovakia again.
