. The majority of the people stopping in at local real estate offices here in the county want tSolive here. Some are hoping w be full-timers right away, and the rest are looking for Weekend or second homes which will become their only homes once they are able to break the bonds to the city. * Most are at least middle aged with grown or almost frown children. They are well Educated and seem to have done their homework about Kappahaitnock and the prices wiey can expect to find here. Very few experience “sticker Shock,” though most are discouraged by the scarcity of homes for sale. f According to several real estate brokers living in and Serving Rappahannock bounty, potential newcomers hre looking for privacy, views and water — perhaps a pond. Stream or springs. They prefer fo buy something already built that they can do a little something with. If they can't find a home for sale, then they’ll buy fend and build. * Spring and fall are the busiest times for buyers and Sellers, and July and August Ore supposed to be vacation times for real estate agents — $nd that scenario has been in play in Rappahannock until this year.
Eileen Day of Eileen M. Pay Realtors, has been selling real estate in the county for a long time, and lately, it’s “different.” Everything is being sold, everything is going. She said, “You could always count on July and August being slow. Not so this year.”
