overheard to comment on how much they were looking forward to getting back to their normal schedules at the end of the two weeks!
Another annual event took place on July 14. This was a Gymkhana or games on horseback. Once again, we took advantage of the Semmes’ ring and raised over $400.
Games ran the gamut from walking races to gambler’s choice jumping class with participants ranging from three years old to adult. Boy Scouts from Troop 36 served food and Katherine Russo came away with the Grand Championship generously donated by Horse and Hound in Flint Hill while sister Allison was Reserve Champion.
Things will settle down a bit now through the heat of the summer, but very soon, it will again be time for lessons and to start getting the ponies ready to go fox hunting.
