Farming workshop slated
A ‘‘Value Added Cattle Farming" workshop will be held Sunday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Flying 'A" Cattle Company, located on US 211 approximately 1.5 miles east of the Sperryville Exxon and two miles west of the Rappahannock Farmers' Cooperative at the Armistead property.
Guest speakers will include Ryan and Reggie Armistead on Marketing Strategies and Herd Health: Dr. Joseph P. Garvin on Commonly Observed Cattle Diseases; Randall Updike on Pre-Conditioning Cattle for Maximum Profits: Dr. Thomas B. Massie, Jr. on Herd Health Recommendations for Stocker Cattle and Bill Oliver on What it Takes to Establish a Good Reputation in the Cattle Business. Family reunion planned
The Jenkins. Sisk and Woodward families will gather on Sunday, Aug. 4 at noon for a reunion at the Rappahannock Park. Those attending should bring a covered dish Everyone is welcome.

The Rappahannock Hunt is pleased to present Oliver Brown's annual foxhunting survival clinic on Saturday. Aug 17 at Hunter's Haven at Reva. The clinic is geared to help horse and rider survive in the hunt field and each horse/rider is assisted at their level of ability. Lunch and refreshments are included. Tnbal belly dancing offered
Tribal belly dancing with Charmaine Lee will be held at the Washington Town Hall each Wednesday now through Aug. 21. Cost is $15 for an hour and a half class from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal afterwards for a half an hour for those interested in performing. Participants should bring a mat. Directors plan meeting
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District holds its monthly Board of Directors’ meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Meetings rotate alphabetically on a county basis by the five counties served by the District— Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Aug. 6 at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department in Washington. For further information call 825-8591.

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, July 31 and not again until Aug. 7. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Public Health Department Building.
